PSA: Ba Nois (Makati) has moved to a new location.
Tired of the usual restaurants in the Greenbelt area and wanting to try something different, a friend decided to bring us to a “fantastic Vietnamese food place” near the area. Ba Nois is a hole-in-the-wall type of place that promises “an Authentic Vietnamese Experience”.
Goi Cuon (PhP 195): A great tasting dish of pork, shrimp and rice vermicelli wrapped in rice paper. (Kinda like the chong fan) They recommend this for people on a low-fat diet. It’s served with peanut sauce.
Cha Gio (PhP 195): These are basically spring rolls eaten by wrapping the roll in fresh lettuce and dipped in Nuoc Mam sauce. The sauce is fish sauce, but less salty and more sweet compared to the native patis.
Pho Bo (PhP 260): A large serving of beef noodle soup with herbs and spices. Perfect for hungry folks. I like their rice noodles because they are elastic and springy. Out of the 2 noodle dishes we tried, I like this one better because the beef soup is very flavorful.
Bun Thit Bo Xao (PhP 260): Unlike Pho Bo, this noodle dish does not come with soup; instead, it comes with their special sauce. This dish is refreshing and is perfect for those hot days.
Vietnamese Hot Coffee (PhP 110): Vietnamese coffee is basically dark roast ground coffee brewed using a drip filter served with a generous amount of condensed milk. The coffee in this place is stronger compared to the usual coffee shops. Their coffee is also available iced.
Overall, the food is great. The place’s ambiance is good for cozy get togethers. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They obviously knowledgeable on what they are serving. This place is now my go to Vietnamese restaurant in Metro Manila.

Since the place is a bit small, do call in for a reservation. The place is packed during the standard meal times.
