Pasig: Kapitolyo Food Trip

A friend invited us to try out three places in Kapitolyo:

  • Poco Deli: a German deli
  • Silantro: a Fil-Mex cantina, and
  • Mad Mark’s: a sandwich and frozen desserts place
  • We had three places to choose from — but wait, why choose when we can eat at all 3 places?

First up is Poco Deli. According to their menu, they specialize in “premium, hand crafted, traditional German sausage and deli meats.”

Poco Deli German Sausage Sampler (PhP 300): Your choice of 3 types of sausages w/ home made saurkraut and New York Bagel chips. While I’m not a fan of saurkraut, their sausages were delicious and not too salty.

Poco Deli Bacon Slabs with Egg and Rice (PhP 280)

Poco Deli Bacon Slabs with Egg and Rice (PhP 280): Two slabs of (1″ thick) bacon, 2 eggs and a cup of bacon rice — definitely a must try for bacon lovers.

Next stop, Mad Mark’s for dessert. We were supposed to eat at Silantro first, but it’s almost this place’s closing time so we decided to have dessert first.

According to them, they are Ice Cream Folks who believe that GREAT ice cream should be honest; and to quote “revered yet democratic, approachable and accesible”

“We get our kick and get giddy from seeing customers from wide walks of life experience what real MADAGASCAR Vanilla Bean Infused into fresh cream tastes like.”

Mad Mark’s Madagascar Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (PhP 110): Two scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream made from real Madagascar vanilla pods. Definitely one of the best vanilla ice cream I’ve tasted.
    * Btw, one scoop of ice cream is priced at PhP 70.

Last stop: Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina. The place opened its doors last December 2012. It’s relatively new in the Kapitolyo food scene but is already building a reputation as a place who offers great tasting Fil-Mex dishes at an affordable price.

    Silantro Ligero Beef (PhP 65)

All three places served really good food. We’ll definitely go back and try them one by one.
