While talking with my dad about pocket wifi devices, I suddenly remembered our trip to Davao last 2012. We decided to eat breakfast at one of the numerous carinderia near Ateneo de Davao University. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that most, if not all, of the shops along that street offer free WiFi! The only catch is they will only give you the password after you purchase food from their shop.
If a carinderia selling meals for as low as PhP 25 can offer their customers free wifi, why not that restaurant who sells appetizers at Php 300? Is it because they assumed that a person who can pay for an expensive meal most probably has a data plan?
