Shanghai: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center

The speed at which Shanghai developed into a thriving metropolis makes me wonder: “How did they do it?”. Located on People’s Square, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center is a place focused on showing the history of Shanghai’s fast-paced development to approved future buildings. One of the highlights of a trip to the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center is a scale model of Shanghai (as of 2013) with approved future buildings up to 2020. It’s not usually part of the itinerary, but the place is definitely worth visiting.
