The temperature in the city is already reaching 34 degrees Celsius and is predicted to go higher. Imagining that I’m walking on the cool, fine sand of Boracay and feeling the sea breeze caress my skin makes walking to work under the scorching sun bearable — until an irate driver honks the car horn that is.

Random: Moon Viewing
Good evening from the Philippines. It is now 10:00 PM and there is a beautiful lunar halo right now. I hope that I’ll get to see this sight again without the telephone wires obstructing my view.

Quezon City: Pino Kitchen-Studio
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, our cooking skill level is 2 at best. I only know how to cook basic Filipino and Chinese dishes, while my sister knows how to make non-bake recipes. When we saw a discounted cooking class coupon back in 2012, we decided that it’s time to level up our cooking skills. We decided to enroll in Pino Kitchen-Studio’s Taiwanders – Spunky Taiwanese Chows course
Starbucks: Outrageous Cheesecake
Yesterday was a stressful day at work. A number of randomly occurring headaches throughout the day and a long conference call later, I decided to call it a day and headed towards my favorite Starbucks branch for a cup of coffee with my sister.
Passing by the food counter, I can’t help but notice the colorful cheesecake at the bottom of the shelf. Stress eating is bad. But who cares? It’s cheesecake! So I got a slice of Outrageous Cheesecake and I’m glad I did. The cheesecake was yummy! It was topped and filled with strawberry, blueberry and mango bits. If you like cheesecake, I highly recommend the Outrageous Cheesecake.
A tasty slice of Outrageous Cheesecake together with a cup of brewed coffee, talking with my sister and the soothing ambiance of my favorite Starbucks branch helped me relax while waiting for our friend to pick us up.
Davao City: Carinderia Free Wifi
While talking with my dad about pocket wifi devices, I suddenly remembered our trip to Davao last 2012. We decided to eat breakfast at one of the numerous carinderia near Ateneo de Davao University. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that most, if not all, of the shops along that street offer free WiFi! The only catch is they will only give you the password after you purchase food from their shop.
If a carinderia selling meals for as low as PhP 25 can offer their customers free wifi, why not that restaurant who sells appetizers at Php 300? Is it because they assumed that a person who can pay for an expensive meal most probably has a data plan?
